Making more empanandas |
Hola, hola!
So this week was a little difficult because I have been
having problems with my stomach and I went to the doctor on Wednesday morning,
but it didn’t turn out that I have anything.
After taking some pills I’ve been doing better. This week was also a little difficult with my
companion. She only has 4 months left on
the mission and she´s starting to be what they call “trunkie”, and she
sometimes gets frustrated with me when I don’t understand something, even
though I am trying my hardest to understand.
Because of this I felt pretty down, and I was praying all day on Friday
to be able to get something to happen to help unite us and something that could
help lift me up. I am amazed at how quickly Heavenly Father answered my
prayers. Saturday morning I received a
letter from my mom that included two conference talks. The first one was by Pres. Uchtdorf about gratitude
and being grateful in all circumstances. After reading it, I realized it was
exactly what I needed to hear. Then I
realized that the next day would be the first Sunday of the month, so that
means Fast Sunday. I knew that this is
exactly what my companion and I needed. Now everything is good between us and
we´re able to teach in unity. I know Heavenly Father answers prayers and when I
pray I know he is listening and he will answer me. I know he loves me and he
loves all his children. I love these people and they are what keep me going and
the testimony I have of this gospel. We
have a baptism date for Marcelina this month and for another investigadora se
llama Nicol. She is a single mother and
so amazing and it’s been so amazing to see her progress. Also I love spending time with the Familia C.
and la Familia V. They are family to me
and I love them so much.
That’s all I have time to write today.
Realmente
estoy muy agradecida por mi pruebas y lo que he aprendido de ellas. Amo a estas personas y este evangelio.
Con mucho
amor,
Hermana Tijerino

Hola hola
Well this week were cambios, but neither my companion nor I
were transferred, so we´re both still here.
I´ll admit I thought I was going to be transferred because I’ve been
here a long time, but I guess the Lord has a different plan for me. By the end of this cambio I´ll have been in
this area for 6 months! But really I am so grateful to still be here. Like I’ve said many times before, I have come
to love so many of the people here, and it’s going to be so hard to say
goodbye. And I think we´re going to have
two more baptisms this coming month, so I’m really glad I’m staying. I don’t know if you remember Marcelyna, but
she is back! First she was going to move, but then she didn’t, but then she did
end up moving, and now she´s back, ha-ha.
It’s been kind of complicated, but finally I think she´s going to stay,
and yesterday she asked us when she can get baptized without either of us even
mentioning it yet, so I´m pretty sure she´ll be able to get baptized as soon as
we are finally done teaching her all the lessons. Also this week we found an investigadora that
speaks English! She studied it in university and she´s almost fluent, so I was
able to teach her a little bit in English which was cool, but actually really
hard after having taught in Spanish for so long, ha-ha.
Anyway, also this week was a little rough because on Tuesday
it rained all day, and after that I got sick for a few days, but I´m pretty
much all better now, so no worries.
Other than that not too much has been going on. All is good here in Bolivia. Just crazy weather, amazing people, and
preaching the gospel to every creature (including the cats and dogs on the
street, ha-ha)
Con mucho amor,
Hermana Tijerino

Hola, hola!
I don’t have much time to write, but not too much has
happened this week. We´re still visiting
the Familia C. and I still continue to love them. We´ve also found 8 new investigadores this
week, which is super good because we´ve been struggling to find new people to
teach. I am also so amazed by the
generosity of people here. On Friday it
started to rain super hard and we were out in the street so we ran for cover
and were standing under someone´s roof. They saw us and invited us in and fed
us. Then we were able to get to know them and teach them the plan of salvation,
and we´re going to go back and visit them next week. It was a really cool experience. Also we did intercambios (exchanges) on Thursday
with the other Hermanas here, and I went to the other area, and it is always a
good experience to see and learn things from other misioneros.
Anyway, things are good and I’m continuing to learn lots and
lots. I love this gospel and I’m so
grateful for the influence it’s had on my life.
Love you all,
Hermana Tijerino
